Sofema Aviation Services (SAS) announces the completion of a 3 Day intensive Maintenance Error Management System Training (MEMS) featuring Boeing Maintenance Error Decision Aid (MEDA).
The training was attended by employees of Fujairah Aviation Academy and Solenta Aviation.
Fujairah Aviation Academy was originally founded in 1986 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saleh Mohammed Hamad Al Sharqi, who is a keen pilot himself, and one of the first students of the academy.
Solenta Aviation is a specialized commercial aviation company formed in October 2000. Based in South Africa: "Our vision is to service the African continent by providing flexible, value-added aircraft leasing solutions across a selected spectrum of turbo-prop aircraft".
Steven Bentley Managing Director of SAS commented:
“We all accept that a strong safety culture is an essential ingredient for effective safety management. With this training we are supporting MRO and 145 organisations to implement an effective MEMS system. The forthcoming EASA regulatory requirement 145.A.62 ‘Internal Safety Reporting Scheme’ (NPA 2013-01) introduces a separate provision to strengthen the development and implementation of a confidential internal safety reporting scheme as part of the Organisation’s ‘safety information system’ to help the organisation foster its safety culture.”
What Delegates said about the training:
“MEMS training has been very valuable.”
“Good Mix of Theory and Practical with Case studies and guidance on implementation.”
“Good examples and sharing of information.”
“Will improve our understanding of the relationship between MEMS and SMS.”
“Excellent guidance on implementation.”
