Sofema Aviation Services (SAS) offers a 5 days fundamental course covering all elements associated with the effective management of an EASA compliant aviation store. In fact the course covers several areas you will not find in other training courses and ensures the supply chain personnel are made aware of the critically of the product they purchase and manage.

In addition the course considers the regulatory obligations and the best use of effective organisational processes to deliver a cost effective supply chain within your organisation. Whilst the Supply chain is often taken for granted, the reality is very different. The entire process including the various stores and tooling control systems are in fact a cornerstone of a successful organisation. With optimization the organisation may develop lean processes which complement the logistics and production management and lead to improved efficiency related to the usage of tooling and material.

Duties of a supply chain manager include Development of EASA and organisational compliant process and procedures – It is mandatory that we have procedures which are approved by the Regulatory Authority –but this is at the highest level contained in Section 2 of the Maintenance Organisation Exposition. Sitting below this is often a myriad of additional local procedures describing every element of how the supply chain should be managed.

A business area is only as good as the competence of the employees following the best procedures. The Manager or Supervisor also needs to ensure and support effective communication within the department together with management of training appropriate to Job Function within the Supply Chain including the need for Strong IT skills (MS Excel, MS Access)

Not forgetting the importance of the Stores Receipt area to ensure all received materials are in accordance with specification and order documents. Also that all received material are received with appropriate release documentation.
