Petya joined our team in 2018. She currently works as a Manager Online Services at Sofema Online
See what Petya said about her working experience with Sofema:
“I didn’t always know what I want to do when I grow up. I studied economics and philosophy, by the age of 25, I have already changed several job positions, attended different classes, and took part in 2 Erasmus+ programs abroad.
Very occasionally, I applied for an internship in an MRO and I was accepted. When I first entered the hangar, I was so thrilled and amazed so I immediately realised that aviation is the field of work I want to be in and I decided to fully dedicate myself to it and grow as a professional.
I started studying aircraft mechanical engineering (turbine engine) in order to get familiar with the aircraft fundamentals, to receive first-hand base maintenance experience, and also to fulfill the requirements needed in order to obtain B1.1 AML.
A great thing about my job is that this is a never-ending journey, there is always a possibility to expand your knowledge and grow personally and professionally and I am very happy that Sofema made it possible for me.
I am unbelievably motivated, determined, and excited, and the best part is that I have the opportunity to motivate and inspire the people around me, to encourage them to pursuit passionately their dreams, to reveal their talents, to build confidence, and to never give up. 😊 “
We asked Petya a few questions
- What inspired you to become a Manager Online Services?
I started my journey in SAS as a multimedia specialist and customer service, later I was promoted to Head of the online department. I was very happy and surprised when I was offered the Manager position. It may sound like a cliché but the only way to increase knowledge and to develop new skills and competencies is by provoking yourself and putting yourself in new different roles and situations as much as possible, so I accepted the position.
- Can you describe your job in three words?
Stimulating, fun, necessary.
- What is the best aspect about being a part of the Sofema Team?
The chance to work with great persons and professionals from all over the world & to receive a better and deeper understanding of the industry.
- Which skills have you developed while working at Sofema?
Critical thinking, self-discipline, dedication, and responsibility.
- If you could write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?
“Petya’s Adventures in Wonderland” because life is a fun adventure to enjoy.
- Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?
I prepare the best Bloody Mary in town.
