> Europe aviation: capacity recovery at new high, no longer led by short/medium haul
In the week of 27-Mar-2023 Europe’s aviation capacity is closer to 2019 capacity levels than it has been at any time since before the COVID-19 pandemic. Seat numbers have reached 96.4% of the equivalent week of 2019, which is a shortfall of just 3.6%. This has risen from 88.8% in the first week of Feb-2023. Read more

>> Delta cuts 6,000 flights from summer schedules
Delta has cut more than 6,000 flights from its summer schedule, including some that are yet to be launched, according to a new analysis. Cirium data reveals Delta is cutting four routes in June, including two from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport to Iron Mountain, Michigan, and Alpena respectively, plus services between New York’s LaGuardia Airport and Dallas Love Field, and Minneapolis and Escanaba, Michigan. > Croatia Airlines to resume Zagreb-Mostar flights
State-controlled flag carrier Croatia Airlines will resume flights from Croatia’s capital Zagreb to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Mostar in May, regional media reported. Croatia Airlines was the sole bidder in a tender by the Mostar airport for the introduction of a regular Zagreb-Mostar service, regional news provider Ex-Yu Aviation reported on Monday. Read more

> Vistara first Indian carrier to operate long-haul aircraft using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)
Vistara, a joint venture of Tata group and Singapore Airlines, today became India’s first carrier to operate a wide-body aircraft using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) on a long-haul route. The ground-breaking ferry flight from Charleston International Airport, South Carolina to Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi was operated in partnership with The Boeing Company and GE Aerospace, on Vistara’s newest GEnx-powered Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, the fourth in its fleet.
