Sofema Aviation, a leader in aviation regulatory training, has officially announced the launch of its highly anticipated Global Survey for Stores Inspectors. Running from July 7, 2026, to September 7, 2026, this initiative aims to capture the real-world challenges, documentation bottlenecks, and training gaps faced by the professionals serving as the critical first line of defense in the aviation supply chain.

To recognize and reward the vital contributions of these industry experts, the winner will be awarded the prestigious Sofema Aviation Logistics Diploma Package.

Addressing the Front-Line Realities of Aviation Logistics

Aviation stores inspection is an increasingly complex discipline, yet standard industry training often relies on generic modules that overlook day-to-day operational realities. This survey gives inspectors an anonymous, confidential platform to directly influence the development of practical, targeted training solutions designed for inspectors, by inspectors.

The survey deep-dives into seven core technical pain points currently impacting the global supply chain:

>> Detecting Suspected Unapproved Parts (SUPs): Describe the issues and challenges related to SUP’s – what, in your opinion, would make the receipt process the most effective?

>> Practical Realities of ESDS Handling: How effective are the ESDS procedures? For example, are there sufficient ESDS transportation materials? What would improve the handling of ESDS material in your organisation?

>> Dangerous Goods: What specific areas of the regulations or storage requirements cause the most confusion for your team? How are DG incidents managed? – Identify any issues with shipment of DG material.

>> Tracing Hard Time: Describe any issues you experience with Part Life “Life Limited Parts”.

>> Consumables and Raw Materials: While serialized components have clear tracks, raw materials (like aerospace sheets, structural metals, or chemicals) often lack original mill test reports or clear shelf-life markings. What are the most frequent gray areas you encounter when inspecting these items?

>> Dedicated vs. Generic Training: Most regulatory training covers general Human Factors, EWIS, or Fuel Tank Safety. What specific training would you like to see developed for Stores Inspectors?

>> Adapting to the Digital Supply Chain: As industry documentation moves from physical paper to digital signatures and electronic delivery notes, what specific training or tools do you feel you lack to confidently spot digital tampering, altered files, or software-based compliance risks?
