Introduction –
EASA Quote “The Implementing Rules for commercial air transport operations have been voted by the EASA Committee. In accordance with the comitology procedures, they now await translation before being sent to Parliament and Council for a 3 month scrutiny period. This process was not finalised by 8 April 2012.”
The EU Commission currently estimates that a publication date for much of the outstanding material within Part OPS will be in the second half of 2012.
However concerning the rules for non-commercial operations and aerial work also know as (specialised operations) may very well extend beyond the end of 2012. EASA undertake to provide further information via the web site when it is available.
The initial issue of JAR OPS 1 was on 1st March 1998- with the goal – to minimize Type Certification problems on joint ventures, In addition its role was intended to regulate commercial air transport operations, across the JAA member states.
The JAR-OPS system only applied to Commercial Air Transport CAT whereas EASA rulemaking will, in principle, extend to all civil aircraft types and all types of civil aircraft use.
