Safety Management Systems Implementation Workshop – 3 Days – 11th to 13th April 2016
An effective SMS is an essential tool to raise the understanding that the organization faces in respect of the various risks affecting the business.
The SMS Implementation training develops a full understanding of the current position, identifies the organization focus and considers a road map and time line to achieve the stated objective.
The purpose of the workshop is to build this understanding into a range of opportunities which may be used to take the organization forward, by delivering outcomes, identifying roles and responsibilities and agreed timelines.

Safety Management Systems Audit Techniques – 2 Days – 14th to 15th April 2016
The Safety Management System identifies as an essential goal, the improvement of the Safety Performance. In so doing the SMS aims to deliver an improvement in the risk exposure. Looking at Risk is extremely subjective and this 2 Day course focuses on the best practices to deliver Safety Audits, understanding how to gather view and interpret the data we see in a meaningful way. This training is highly relevant for safety and quality assurance auditors Manager as well as business area stake holders who need to have a deep appreciation of the safety audit process.

Root Cause Analysis for Safety Management Practitioners – 1 Day – 18th April 2016
The purpose of this training is to identify best practice techniques and behaviours to perform effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA) The delegate will work through several examples in small teams and determine the root causes of identified issues.
This course is intended to be highly practical and to help the delegate focus on the 5 elements which exist within a finding or issue.
1/ The finding – What is the problem?
2/ Why is it a problem – What standard has not been met (is it internal or external)
3/ Why did it happen? – Here we consider Root Cause
4/ What is the consequence – risk or opportunity considered
5/ Corrective action disposition – Who, What & When

Safety Management System Developing Risk Assessment Strategies – 2 Days – 19th to 20th April 2016
The core requirement for an SMS is an effective method of identifying and controlling risk, and an essential element of safety management is the process of risk assessment. The need to identify and control risk is key to protecting the organization and this one-day course will provide the delegates with an understanding of how to identify hazards within their own workplace and to evaluate these hazards to produce a risk assessment. During the course delegates will work through several examples with the emphasis on group work and discussion to evaluate the differences of opinion, which may come into risk assessment.
