De-icing / Anti-icing Training is mandatory for all staff engaged in the actual de-icing /anti-icing process, in addition staff supervising the process, and staff controlling the process also require to be trained.

The training course is designed to promote a full understanding of the responsibilities associated with the important task to determine the need for de-icing / anti-icing before aircraft dispatch.

Responsibility lies either both with the trained and qualified person who performs the departure duties together with the Flight Crew who have the ultimate responsibility for a safe departure.

All persons involved both on the ground and flight crew, should be suitably trained and qualified for winter operations.
