This month we meet you with our instructor Elin Lambrev. Elin started his aviation career in the early 1980’s spending 11 years in military aviation followed by more than 25 years in commercial aviation. He have a MBA degree in Aviation Management and extensive training background. He is IATA certified instructor skilled and knowledgeable in delivering high quality training in various aviation related areas.

We asked Elin to tell us a bit more about himself.

Q: Does the aviation gene run in your family?
A: I’m the first aviation professional in my family.

Q: Is there a childhood dream involved in your choice of career?
A: As many children I was amazed by airplanes. At the age of 8 I attended a course for aircraft modelling which piqued my interest in flying and aviation. At a latter stage I joined aviation college and I knew this is what I really want to do for a living.

Q: In your opinion, what is the most valuable quality a person should have in your line of work?
A: I think the most important quality for an aviation professional is their honesty.

Q: What are the most enjoyable aspects of the job? And the most challenging?
A: For me working in the aviation industry is an amazing journey which involves making new contacts with different people and visiting many places around the world. The main challenge is to find balance between work and family.

Q: How do you find ways to make your work more interesting for you and your trainees?
A: The aviation industry is not a field where you can be easily bored. Every day comes with new challenge and new solution.

Q: Would you like to share some interesting and extraordinary experience involving your work?
A: To fly an airplane is an extraordinary job, but the greatest experience which I had was working in support of the Paris-Dakar Rally. Flying over the Sahara desert and feeling the pulse of the race was a great experience for me.

Q: What activities do you enjoy outside of work?
A: I like going hiking in the mountains and I enjoy nature.

We thank Elin for his time and wish him all the best in his future professional endeavors!
