This program is specifically designed for persons wishing to become Dangerous Goods Training DGR and wish to develop the necessary competence to deliver effective Dangerous Goods Training within their own organisations.

More than 15 000 students have completed Sofema Aviation Service Training since the company formed in Mar 2008.

It is important that all relevant employees receive training that is commensurate with their responsibilities. In addition recurrent training must be provided within 24 months of previous training to ensure knowledge is current, In order to comply with the requirements of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) in their Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air.

Sofema Aviation Services Training is delivered by professional instructors with decades of experience, focusing on industry best practice process and procedures to create a strong and effective training program which connects to the delegates in a meaningful way. (Please note that this course is not a Dangerous Goods Course and it is necessary either before the Train the Trainer Course or prior to instructing to ensure that you must hold a valid DGR Category 6)

What is contained in the Train the Trainer for Dangerous Goods Program?

As well as a general introduction to the concept of training DG the delegates will also consider the Challenges of Training an Adult Group and how to manage the DGR Trainers Learning Path.

Consideration is given to optimising the presentation techniques and how to manage Instructor Competence. Practice techniques for speaking in Public and ensuring effective communication.

Use is made of case studies as an effective mechanism for training adults as well as other group based facilitation techniques.

We will consider as a group the specific challenges of competence based training as well as the role of Emergency Response Training in context of DGR

The delegate will review DGR awareness training guidelines and the best practice to undertake course development including the establishment of course objectives. To include building of lessons plan for different DGR categories as well as the effective use of media and visual aids

Considering the course outcomes

After completion of the SAS 5 day Dangerous Goods Train the Trainer Program you will be able to document the training objectives and create suitable examination questions for a specific target group.

In addition to be able to design your own organisational training program using the techniques you will learn as well as to create appropriate material to enable student engagement and facilitation during your training courses

Sofema Aviation Services awards a course certificate of completion to delegates who achieve 75% or higher during the end of course exams. Delegates who attain a pass of 90% or greater receive a distinction.
