Air Canada and United Airlines are among the first customers for a new hybrid-electric airplane from Heart Aerospace. The aircraft, named the ES-30 for its 30-passenger capacity, replaces the Gothenburg, Sweden-based planemaker’s all-electric ES-19 airplane that United first committed to last year. Read more

Boeing officials said Thursday they will find new buyers for Boeing 737 Max jets that were built for Chinese airlines but can’t be delivered because China’s aviation regulator has not cleared the plane to fly after two deadly crashes. Read more

Tambo) has been placed into final liquidation by the South African High Court, with the government blaming the regional airline’s demise on deep-rooted corruption, fraud, years of mismanagement, and state capture, exacerbated by the impact of the Covid pandemic. With traffic volumes edging closer to pre-pandemic levels, ACI Europe director general Olivier Jankovec stressed the importance of returning to the standard airline slot regime of 80 percent, which was reduced to 64 percent across the EU and 70 percent in the UK during the busy summer period.
