The Aviation Quality and Safety Management Symposium
Considerations related to unauthorised drone incursions into civil aviation airspace
Presenting Essential Information for Airport Operators and Industry
Date: 14-15th May 2015
Venue: Holliday Inn Hotel, Sofia, Bulgaria.
If you are engaged in Aviation Quality & Safety Management this is your one “must attend” event of the year.
Elin Lambrev, Senior Aviation Consultant and DG Specialist, is providing a detailed understanding of the issues our industry faces related to the exposure to Drones.
Introduction to the Drone Threat
Airlines and Airports Operators are trying quickly to catch up with the hazard of drone incursions into civil aviation airspace. There are several examples where airports such as Newark, Dubai, Heathrow, Gatwick, Dublin and some others have been closed even for days, following unauthorised drones flying close to airfields and creating huge interruption of airport traffic.
Understanding the Issue – where are the Solutions?
Considering the challenge of unauthorised drone incursions into civil aviation airspace – what is the current position?
The real problem is that advanced knowledge by either the Airport or Air Traffic Control regarding where or when a drone will do or where it will fly.
Safety is seriously jeopardised and urgently appropriate rules need to be implemented.
Considering the EASA approach:
EASA made a step by including all drones of 250 grams and above in their scope, but all states have to work for developing risk mitigation measures and to inform the society about the applicable law.
There is no “rule book” for this new situation and the rules are under development. This makes the tasks of operators more complicated and difficult.
During the presentation, you will:
- Consider various scenarios of safety and security risks associated with fast-growing UAV industry
- Propose Measures to reduce the risks of an unauthorised incursion of drones in airline industry sensitive areas.
- A benefit with a detailed understanding of exposure to possible damages following the drone strikes with an aeroplane.
All attendees will acquire knowledge of latest regulatory measures and rules applicable in North America and Europe.
Through the 16 sessions, the speakers will:
- Raise the importance of the role of Key Safety and Quality Employees within EASA Compliant Organizations.
- Raise awareness regarding risk management.
- To highlight the contribution of the Safety and Quality business areas to support the positive development of the organization and to achieve minimal exposure.
Whether you are an Airlines, Airport, MRO, Aerospace Manufacturer, or Ground Handling Organisation the success of the Quality and Safety department is pivotal in delivering confidence to the business.
The benefits of Attending include:
- The opportunity to expand their professional network by meeting leading industry professionals
- To upgrade their Aviation Quality and Safety knowledge
