Kevin Rookes – instructor of Sofema Aviation Services, had the pleasure to deliver FAA training session to Volga Dnepr Gulf (UAE) FZC including 2 training courses: FAA FAR 145 & FAR 43 for Repair Stations and FAA SMS Implementation.
The Training session started on September 9th and finished on September 11th, 2018 in Volga Dnepr Gulf facilities. Sixteen delegates attended the 2 training courses:
FAA FAR-145 & FAR-43 for Repair Stations located outside the U.S. not under a BASA/MIP – Initial
This training course describes in detail 14 CFR part 43 and part 145 and the relationship to U.S. air carriers for a foreign certificated repair station located outside the United States in a country that does not have a Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement with the FAA.
FAA Safety Management Systems Implementation Overview
This training will assist your organization’s leadership, management teams, and employees in making effective and informed safety decisions through understanding the basic processes of “what” must be accomplished to implement an effective SMS, as well as providing guidance on how the SMS may be developed to achieve the safety performance objectives outlined by your organization.

About Volga Dnepr Gulf (UAE) FZC
VD Gulf is a leading independent MRO based near Sharjah International Airport, Sharjah, UAE. In 2013 VD Gulf built a large hangar of approximately 22 000 square meter area, designed to facilitate large aircraft maintenance and repair. The hangar is capable of accommodating six narrow body (737/A320 size) and two wide body (747 size) aircraft simultaneously. It is complemented with all required special docking, tools/ equipment and utilities appropriate for efficient and quality maintenance of various types of aircraft/engine combination. The hangar is fully air-conditioned and has a high-quality fire detection and protection system.
