We asked Elin a few questions about his experience in working with Sofema

  1. Initially, what inspired you to start a career in aviation?

My passion for aviation began in my childhood. When I was at 8 I joined a club of aircraft modeling where we crafted small tethered airplanes and I was really impressed and fascinated by planes. In 1976 I started to study in aviation military college and since then all my life is connected with aviation.

  1. What motivates you as an aviation instructor and what is the best part about being a Sofema trainer?

During my long career in aviation, I gained a lot of knowledge and skills in international and multicultural environments so I love to share it with other aviation professionals. My deepest satisfaction comes when some of the attendees of my courses share with me after the session that the training is very useful for them and they will put that new knowledge into practice when they come back to working place.

  1. Which aspects do you find most rewarding in your career?

I held various positions in aviation as ground staff, flight crew, manager, and director positions but always my tasks were interesting and challenging and I loved my job. The most rewarding is the pleasure to be part of an amazing industry.

  1. And what challenges have you faced along the way?

Aviation is a fast-changing industry. Very often you as aviation personnel have to gain new skills and knowledge for a limited time with short deadlines. This always is the challenge but this is the part of the business and you will be never bored by the job.

  1. Besides Aviation, what other areas pique your interest?

I’m an addicted traveler and a nature lover. When having a possibility I spend my time walking in nature and discovering new places in my country or abroad.

  1. Lastly, what will you advise people who dream of a career in aviation?

Aviation is a fantastic place to work – a dynamic, interesting, challenging, and satisfactory job that they will love for sure.
