Air Transport of Pharmaceutical Products

Companies that either transport or provide storage for pharmaceutical products must ensure both a comprehensive understanding of the associated regulations as well as the physically capacity to meet the objectives of the regulations.

The Pharmaceutical industry is heavily regulated with a plethora of stringent controls. Relying to a major extent on the overall integrity of the supply chain. With the overarching requirements including Temperature control, product security, as well as regulatory compliance it is of paramount importance that the supply chain is managed end to end in the most effective way.

Transport of Infectious Substances Category A and Category B

Shipping Infectious Substances is a highly specialised task requiring specific competences with the authorised person understanding in details the process of classification, packaging, marking, and labelling, together with the associated documentation, and specific handling requirements.

The transportation of infectious substances is divided into two categories:

Category A: an infectious substance which is carried in a form that, when exposure to it occurs, is capable of causing permanent disability, life threatening or fatal disease in otherwise healthy humans or animals.

Category B: any infectious substance that does not meet the criteria for inclusion in category A.
Samples of materials such as blood, tissue, etc. collected from humans or animals are considered, as a minimum, category B infectious substances.

Guidance for Transportation of Live Animals by Air

The safe transportation of live animals as air cargo is based on controlling three environmental factors: temperature, relative humidity level, and cargo compartment carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration.

Different animals have specific environmental requirements for optimal health. If we fail to properly control these environmental factors correctly we may impact negatively animal welfare, comfort, or survivability.

Safety Management Systems for Cargo Operations Staff

An effective SMS is an essential tool to raise the understanding that the cargo operators faces in respect of the various risks affecting the aviation cargo business.

An ICAO compliant Safety Management System provides a mechanism to proactively seek, identify, quantify and mitigate risks and potential hazards which exist in the business. Moreover it provides for a mechanism to deliver a safer working process and environment in every facet of your day to day business.
