The objective of the training is to deliver the training necessary to ensure optimum competence, allowing the student to confidently and safely perform a ground engine run-up operation.

Which Aircraft are covered by AETS-Sofema Training Programs?

Multiple Aircraft are covered including Boeing Aircraft Maintenance Engine Ground Run Training. Airbus Aircraft Maintenance Engine Ground Run Training and Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Engine Ground Run Training.

Please do contact team@aets-sofema.com to discuss your particular requirements – there are constraints and limitations regarding simulator sessions so the earlier you act the better.

The course includes but is not limited to the following elements:

AETS-Sofema Instructors lead the students in a safe environment through all the various engine test procedures. Additional topics are covered including crew briefing and weather considerations.

Why Perform an Aircraft Engine Ground Run?

There are multiple reasons why it is necessary to perform an Engine Ground Run (EGR) whether on the Line or following Base Maintenance Operations.

At AETS-Sofema, our specially designed Engine Ground Running training contains both theoretical and practical sessions. The theoretical classroom training is followed by the participants completing an actual ground run on an aircraft simulator.

Why use a simulator?

The simulator allows training for all emergency scenarios which simply cannot be performed on a live aircraft – For example, discharging an Aircraft Engine or APU Fire-Bottle following the positive identification of an Engine Fire.

The following Engine Ground Running Training Courses are currently Scheduled:

Airbus A340-500/600 (TRENT 500) from 8 to 10 June 2020

Embraer ERJ 135/145 (RR AE3007A) from 15 to 17 June 2020

Boeing 747-400 (GE CF6-80 or PW4000) from 22 to 24 June
