Sofema Aviation Services is pleased to offer a 2 day training course covering EASA compliant SMS Implementation for Airports and Aerodromes. The course is aimed specifically at Aerodrome Management and Operational Staff, Safety Managers, Quality Managers, Aerodrome Safety Personnel. Regulators and Airport SMS Stake holders.

The challenge of implementation an effective airfield SMS also provides an opportunity to develop processes which can contribute to significant improvements in the safety management  across all elements of the airfield management business process.

The course is taking place in the Best Western Expo Hotel Tsarigradsko Shosse Sofia Bulgaria Thursday 18th October and Fri 19th October

The airport is a busy and dynamic environment with many stakeholders required to integrate into a unified SMS process. Forthcoming EASA regulations – EASA NPA 2011-20 (A) – Authority, Organisation and Operations Requirements for Aerodromes are mandating requirements which affect the entire European Aviation Community including the need for an Aerodrome Safety Management System.

The Training course will help you prepare for the transition from the existing process driven by ICAO to a fully compliant EASA Safety Management System. A detailed understanding of implementation methodology will be encouraged regarding roles and responsibilities including developing and implementing process procedures and policies.

Delegates will understand the differences between the ICAO and EASA SMS and receive specific knowledge regarding the SMS implementation process, as proposed by EASA The course is highly participative, and provides a full understanding to the various roles and responsibilities required to implement an effective SMS system. The primary focus of the training is to support the delegates need to deliver effective management of safety including the process to measure risk and exposure and the development of mitigation strategies.

A background in an airport environment is an advantage, however specific SMS competencies are not essential.

Amongst the learning objectives  is an understand the Evolution of Safety, the purpose and methodology of proactive SMS and the process by which an SMS should work within an Aerodrome Environment.

Delegates to the training will understand the Role of Safety Auditing and the difference between Quality & Safety, In addition they should be able to develop an effective process for the implementation of a fully compliant SMS.
