The introduction of Regulation (EU) 965/2012 saw the formalization of requirements for Safety Management Systems in ATOs.
This course was developed aimed specifically at Air Operators required to implement the new regulatory requirement, as opposed to other courses which handle SMS requirements in a more general manner with no specific applicability to the Air Operator environment.
Who is the course for?
This course is made for individuals and organizations involved in aviation operations. AOC stands for Air Operator Certificate, which is issued to airlines and other aviation service providers by the civil aviation authority of a country. Target GroupsÂ
This course is aimed at anyone who is involved in the implementation, running, or ongoing management of a Safety Management System within an Air Operator environment.
This course is also intended for anyone else wishing to undertake a role within the SMS or ERP of an ATO. It may also be suitable for any other individuals connected with any other aviation organization who wish to expand their knowledge of the functioning of aviation systems (the SMS basic requirements are similar in most spheres of European Aviation).
Pre-requisitesÂ
It is recommended that participants have at least a basic understanding of the principles behind Air Operator management systems however this is not essential.
Learning ObjectivesÂ
Upon completion of this course, it is anticipated that participants with average aptitude will be competent to undertake a role in the management of and/or an operational role within the SMS of an Air Operator.

DurationÂ
This course runs for 2 days when combined with either the Compliance Monitoring System or related Regulation Training Course or 2.5 days as a stand-alone course. Course commences at 09:00 and ends at 17:00 with a lunch break of 1 hour and coffee breaks in the morning and afternoon.
