Aviation System Risk Assessment and Management of Change Workshop – 2 Days

Introduction

This course is offered as both a recurrent training as well as to enable existing Aviation Stakeholders an opportunity to upskill and engage with a Risk-Based Analysis Process and Management of Change Safety Management System.

EASA is increasingly focusing on the introduction of Performance (Risk) Based Regulation (PBR) as a complement to a Prescriptive (Compliance Based) Regulation.

With the goal of ensuring the best allocation of resources to both understand the risk facing the business together with the development of appropriate mitigations. Organizations need to consider Risk as a component of Change Management Decisions.

Consider the fundamental elements of a Risk-Based Oversight Program together with the value of measuring the organizational effectiveness to meet the objective of driving performance improvements.

Understand best practices for carrying out risk assessments of identified hazards avoiding common pitfalls. How to implement a risk assessment process within the Management of Change Activities.

Concerning the Management of Change

The management of change should be a documented process to identify the external and internal changes that may have an adverse effect on safety. It should make use of the operator’s existing hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation processes.

  • AMC1 ORO.GEN.200(a)(1);(2);(3);(5) Management system states the following:

-NON-COMPLEX OPERATORS — GENERAL
-The operator should manage safety risks related to a change. The management of change should be a documented process to identify external and internal changes that may have an adverse effect on safety. It should make use of the operator’s existing hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation processes.
