Course Duration 5 Days – 40 Hours
This training complies with the requirements of EASA User Guide UG.CAO.00126-003
The Course is specifically designed to accommodate the specific needs of the Component Certifying Staff who are required to show compliance with the requirements of EASA Part 66 Basic Licence Module 10.
Note EASA Requirement which will be supported by Sofema Aviation Services by liaison with the relevant Organisational Quality Manager – When selecting a non-EASA Part-147 AMTO to provide the Human Factor training and/or Aviation Legislation, the maintenance organisation quality department shall be in a position to demonstrate as a minimum that:
The course is carried out according to a detailed syllabus including level of training as per EASA Part- 66 Module 9 and/or 10 as applicable (the duration of the course need to be specified to demonstrate the adequacy to cover all subjects);
The Qualification criteria for instructors is defined;
A maximum number of training Hours per day is defined (HF principal to be considered);
A maximum of trainees per group of trainees (28 person).
The course is designed to cover all the elements or EASA Aviation Legislation applicable to the awareness needs of the PArt 66 Engineer including the structure of the rules, the role of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), and the national authorities.
It also provides an introduction to the Basic Regulation (Commission Regulation (EC) No. 216/2008) and provides basic knowledge about the Implementing Rules (Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1321/2014 and No. 748/2012 in respect of annexes Part-M, Part-145, Part-66, and Part-21. It presents an overview of the Certification Specifications (CS) and the requirements of Reg 965/2012 for aircraft operations

2. Part-66 — Certifying Staff — Maintenance
Detailed understanding of Part-66.
3. Part-145 — Approved Maintenance Organisations
Detailed understanding of Part-145.
4. AIR-OPS — Commercial Air Transportation
Air Operators Certificates;
Documents to be Carried;
Aircraft Placarding (Markings);
5. Aircraft Certification
Certification rules: such as EACS 23/25/27/29;
Supplemental Type Certification;
Part-21 Design/Production Organisation Approvals.
Certificate of Airworthiness;
Certificate of Registration;
Radio Station Licence and Approval.
6. Part-M Intro
Detailed understanding of Part-M.
7. Applicable National and International Requirements for (if not superseded by EU requirements)
7.1 Maintenance Programmes, Maintenance checks and inspections;
Master Minimum Equipment Lists, Minimum Equipment List, Dispatch Deviation Lists;
Service Bulletins, manufacturers service information;
Modifications and repairs;
Maintenance documentation: maintenance manuals structural repair manual, illustrated parts catalogue, etc.
7.2 Continuing airworthiness;
ETOPS, maintenance and dispatch requirements;
All Weather Operations, Category 2/3 operations and minimum equipment requirements.
Target groups –
This course is aimed at Components, Engines and APU Certifying Staff, Quality Managers, Line & Training Managers, other stakeholders and persons wishing to understand the Principles of Aviation Human Factors Exposure.
A background in aviation engineering or an aircraft engineering apprenticeship or other appropriate training.
Learning Objectives –
By the end of this course, delegates will be able to explore the implications of error, the organisation’s safety culture, its procedures and safety policy and methods of communication. The training will give the delegates a better understanding of the subject and to find workable methods to improve standards and compliance.
