Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has introduced a program to educate air travelers about cybersecurity in response to the increasing use of digital technologies in the aviation industry. This initiative is especially important after cyberattacks on several international airlines, including the mid-July 2025 cyberattack on Aeroflot, Russian Airlines. Because of the CAA initiatives, the aviation authorities are planning to host cybersecurity awareness programs which will be taking place at Muscat and Salalah airports to educate travelers on the importance of protecting their personal information when they are on the move. The electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, set to revolutionize urban travel, will drastically reduce commute times between major airports and central Tokyo. Read more
