Safety Management Systems Introduction into EASA Part – CAMO – 2 Days

Introduction

From 24 March 2020 Annex Vc Part-CAMO will become a valid EASA approval.

From 24 September 2021 Part-M Subpart G organisation approval will no longer be available. (by this date all existing CAMO organisations must migrate to the new approval format)

What is the Difference between Part M Subpart G & Part CAMO?

Part-CAMO provides requirements for Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO): compared with Part-M Subpart G organisation, the main difference is the introduction of SMS principles.

Introducing SMS in EASA Part-CAMO

A fully compliant Safety Management System provides a mechanism to proactively seek, identify, quantify as well as mitigate risks and potential hazards which exist in the business. Moreover, it provides for a mechanism to deliver a safer working process and environment in every facet of your day to day business activities.

This course delivers a practical pathway to implement Safety Management System (SMS) within your Part-CAMO organisation.

During the course we will consider the challenges and issues which need to be overcome and successfully addressed.

Further Background

An effective SMS is about identifying exposure to risk as felt by the entire business.

This 2 Day intensive training is based on compliance with ICAO Annex 19 and ICAO Doc 9859 and EASA Opinion 06-2016.

The course is highly participative and provides a full understanding of the various roles and responsibilities required to implement an effective SMS system.

The primary focus of the training is to support the delegates need to deliver effective management of safety including the process to measure risk and exposure and the development of mitigation strategies.

The course also recognizes the importance of a “Top Down” approach to ensure the effective delivery of Each Program is confidential and fully interactive, A basic to working knowledge of SMS principles is an advantage in advance of the training.

It is for persons who are actively involved in the management or Interaction or the organisations SMS including Accountable Managers, Directors, Managers, CAMO Managers and CAMO staff ,Safety System Stakeholders. The Part-CAMO Safety Management System (SMS) requires clearly define responsibilities and accountabilities for safety, establishment of a safety policy. Be able to ensure the identification of aviation safety hazards entailed by its activities, including through an internal safety reporting scheme and to ensure the evaluation of aviation safety hazards and the management of associated risks.

Additionally to take actions to mitigate the risks and verify the actions’ effectiveness &  maintain personnel trained, competent, and informed about significant safety issues.

To be able to document all management system key processes & effectively manage risks in contracted and subcontracted activities; and develop a process to monitor compliance while considering any additional requirements that are applicable to the organisation.
