Introduction

What do we mean by an effective SMS?

It is not just about meeting the framework objectives it is about developing an integrated management system that, as well as ensuring the minimization of hazards and the associated risks, engages with the organization’s process and procedures in a way that supports efficiency and optimization to drive organizational improvement.

Periodically we should consider our Safety Management Systems in a more Holistic way to consider whether it is delivering the optimum benefit for our organization.

This 2-day course aims to provide a comprehensive review of the overall effectiveness of our SMS. by performing a review of the current Risk Monitoring and Safety Performance processes.

Delegates will undertake a detailed review of SMS within their organization and establish a detailed understanding of the current challenges and detailed opportunities to develop the system and improve effectiveness.

Maintaining an effective Safety Management System is far more challenging than many people realize.

The course is for persons who are currently familiar with ICAO SMS objectives. The course is intensive highly practical, and promotes best industry practices. The course is highly participative and stimulates involvement and provides powerful motivation.

Extensive use is made of group exercises, workshop activities, case studies, and feedback.
