Introduction
Important Note – This course is supplemental to a Generic Aviation Train the Trainer course which should be taken as a prerequisite.
The origins of the requirement for EWIS Training go back to a number of incidents that have had a catastrophic effect on the industry with instances of in-flight smoke and fire events in which contaminants were ignited by electrical faults which allowed a fire to be sustained and spread. Considerable research was conducted by The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) together with the European Stakeholders.
The outcomes were conclusive and determined the specific need for EWIS Training.
This course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the requirement for effective EWIS Training and provides a thorough grounding in effective techniques to enable your nominated EWIS trainer to deliver appropriate training within your organization.
The course is highly practical and promotes best training practices. It also recognizes that while much commonality exists in these two subjects, EWIS training for groups 1 & 2 is very specific and relevant to the company fleet. It is an industry-specific two-day program specifically designed for those who need to manage or deliver FTS and or EWIS Training.
Electrical Wiring Interconnect System EWIS Training was issued as an EASA requirement in the summer of 2008. There is much confusion across the industry as to the requirements to comply with the need for training EWIS within the Part 145 and Part M environment. AMC 20-22 makes It very clear as to the requirements that are to be complied with to ensure the organization remains in conformity with EASA regulatory requirements. Ultimately in accordance with the terms of the approval issued to Operators and MROs, It is the Operator’s and Maintenance Organisation Responsibility to comply with the requirements of Electrical Wiring Interconnect Systems working practices and procedures including specifically EWIS training.
The course is highly participative and it stimulates involvement and provides for powerful motivation. To introduce the delegate to training skills and to provide the confidence that can be developed to deliver effective EWIS Training within your organizations.
There will be ample opportunity to practice presenting & speaking throughout the course and you will have the opportunity at the end of the training to deliver your own presentation – between 10 to 20 minutes.
