> Norwegian to enter Slovenian market
Low-cost carrier Norwegian has announced it will commence flights between Copenhagen and Ljubljana, along with several new seasonal operations to other cities including Tivat, Zadar and Pristina in the summer of 2024. It will mark Norwegian’s entry into the Slovenian market. Services to Ljubljana are yet to be scheduled and put on sale. Read more

Joby Aviation, Inc., a company developing electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for commercial passenger service, successfully performed an exhibition flight in New York City yesterday, marking the first-ever electric air taxi flight in the city and the first time Joby has flown in an urban setting. > Macquarie invests $190 mln in green aviation fuel supplier SkyNRG
Nov 16 (Reuters) – Australia’s Macquarie Group Ltd (MQG.AX) said on Thursday its asset management arm will make an initial investment of up to 175 million euros (about $190 million) in Netherlands-based sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supplier SkyNRG. Read more
> NATA Launches Aviation Mx Apprenticeship Tracking Tool
The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) has launched the NATA Aviation Apprenticeship Tracking Tool to streamline the process of developing well-documented aviation maintenance technician applicants who are ready for testing. The tool, created in collaboration with the organization’s Maintenance Committee, is available only to NATA members and provides a structured approach to recording the on-the-job tasks mandated to fulfil the prerequisites for FAA Form 8610-2. > Eindhoven Airport Announces Private Jet Ban from 2026
Eindhoven Airport (EHEH) in the Netherlands intends to ban private flights starting in 2026 as part of a strategy to reduce aircraft carbon dioxide emissions and noise by 30 percent—compared to 2019 levels–by 2030. Other measures confirmed late last week include a cap on the number of yearly flights and a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) blending requirement that is markedly higher than the one mandated by the European Union (EU). > Ernst & Young to assist in privatisation of Pakistan’s PIA
The Pakistani government has selected a consortium led by multinational business consultancy firm Ernst & Young as its financial advisor in the partial privatisation of PIA – Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Islamabad International). The Ministry of Privatisation’s Privatisation Commission Board (PCB) made the announcement after a November 10, 2023, meeting in Islamabad. Read more
> Pilot hits a parked airplane after losing control on landing
The pilot told investigators he did a visual inspection of the Beech C35’s brakes as part of his preflight inspection and he “saw no leaks or abnormalities.” Additionally, no discrepancies were noted during a brake check while beginning to taxi or during the engine run-up before takeoff. He proceeded to his destination and performed a normal landing at the airport in Perry, Georgia. Read more
