> Türkiye’s Pegasus Airlines moots new aircraft orders
Pegasus Airlines (PC, Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen) is interested in placing a new aircraft order for narrowbodies to arrive after 2029, according to the company’s chief executive officer, Guliz Ozturk. In an interview with Bloomberg, she said that by 2029, the airline expects to receive 64 new Airbus single-aisle jets for its fleet, following a 2023 order for thirty-six A321-200neo. Read more

> Farnborough Airport Unveils Major Hangar Development
Farnborough Airport (EGLF) has unveiled its newest hangar facility that increases the aircraft storage capacity at the London-area business aviation hub by 70%. Launched in 2022, the £55 million ($70 million) Domus III project adds 175,000 sq ft of hangar space, bringing the dedicated business aviation airport to 415,000 sq ft of space capable of sheltering the latest ultra-long-range business jets. > New leader for AOPA Air Safety Institute
The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) has appointed Mike Ginter, a general aviation advocate and retired Naval aviator, to head its Air Safety Institute. “For more than 70 years, the AOPA Air Safety Institute has delivered life-saving information and education to pilots, and I am honored to be part of continuing that legacy,” said Ginter. “It’s important to meet pilots where they are with practical tools and information they can really use, and no organization does that better than ASI.”. > Wright State University launches aviation degree
There’s more good news on the aviation horizon for the Dayton area. As the region prepares for the 2024 CenterPoint Energy Dayton Air Show this weekend, Wright State University will officially launch its recently approved aviation programs. Read more

> US’s Air New England acquires first jet, a Citation 510
Part 135 certified air carrier Air New England (Boston) has acquired a Cessna 510 Citation. The 16 year-old aircraft is registered as N1RS (msn 510-0105). Air New England says the introduction of the Citation 510 spearheads its expansion into business jet operations. Federal Aviation Administration records show the Hotel Sierra Group LLC, a Maine consulting entity, owns the aircraft. ch-aviation fleets data reveals the aircraft was previously registered as N245DR, with former operators including El Pueblo Aviation and Trans Air Leasing. > Arizona’s Sedona Airport Now Offers SAF
Arizona’s Sedona Airport (KSEZ) has become the second location in the state to receive continuous supplies of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Lone FBO Red Rock Aviation, in partnership with the Sedona-Oak Creek Airport Authority, accepted its first 8,000-gallon truckload provided by Avfuel earlier this month. That amount is equivalent to a 19-tonne reduction in life cycle carbon emissions, and SAF shipments will be delivered to the airport on a set periodic basis throughout the year. Read more

> Expanded Youth and Family Activities at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024
A new youth aviation activities area located in the Vintage Aircraft Association area on the EAA grounds is the latest edition to the expanding youth and family activities taking place at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024. The 71st edition of the Experimental Aircraft Association’s fly-in convention and air show is from July 22 through 28. Read more
