December 12th 2014 saw the completion of a 3 Day Aviation Maintenance “Train the Trainer” course at the facilities of VOLGA-DNEPR TECHNICS GMBH Leipzig/Halle Airport.

The course was delivered by Steve Bentley MD of Sofema Aviation Services (SAS) to 12 delegates from Volga-Dnepr Facilities at both Leipzig and Frankfurt Airport.

VDT GmbH – holds regulatory approval issued by European Aviation Safety Agency EASA Part -145 (No DE.145.0468). and has the capability to deliver Line Maintenance up to A check and C14  Wheel/brake repair (С14) on the following aircraft types: Boeing 747-200/300 (CF6-50), Boeing 747-400 (CF6-80, PW 4000), Boeing 747-8 (GEnx), Boeing 737 CL(CFM-56).
An 8,500 sq.mtrs. hangar facility has been commissioned at Leipzig/Halle Airport. It can accommodate one B747 type wide-body aircraft or up to four B737/A320 narrow-body aircraft in parallel. VOLGA-DNEPR TECHNICS GMBH offers customer-oriented approach in serving customer needs and 24/7 operations.

 

Steve Bentley commented: “This was the first visit of Sofema Aviation Services in Leipzig and it was a pleasure to deliver training to an experienced and talented group, we wish VDT every success as they continue to develop the substantial facility at Leipzig/Halle Airport.”

 

The training was focused on understanding the Adult learning process and how to manage within an organisational environment. The delegates were able to consider the needs of the organisation to deliver a range of trainings within the maintenance environment including Human Factors EWIS and FTS and considered the background leading to the various training requirements.

In addition the training was designed to introduce your Maintenance Trainer to training skills which can be developed to maximize the effectiveness of your training sessions.

  • Managing Competency and the link to Maintenance Training
  • Balancing Presentation, Motivation  Debate & Discussion and Case Studies
  • Safety Culture and Safety Management Training including Maintenance Error Management Systems
  • Error, Violations, Blame & Culpability Practical Understanding of the Role of Root Cause
  • Relationship Management and Emotional Intelligence and Speaking in Public – Developing your skills
  • Where do we use Coaching Skills
