After 2015 it will not be possible to place an aircraft onto the UAE register if it is over 20 years old.

Reference UAE Gulf Civil Aviation Authority  (GCAA)  INFORMATION BULLETIN No. 11/2014:

“From 01 January 2015, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Certificate of Registration (C of R) shall be issued only to those aircraft with an age limit equal to or less than twenty (20) years. Aircraft age shall be calculated from the date of issuance of the initial Certificate of Airworthiness.

Existing aircraft already on the register are unaffected unless they are removed from the register then they will be treated as “foreign” Aircraft and the above rules will apply.

Amendments made to existing aircraft registrations (already on the register) are not affected.”
