> Nordica privatisation process gets Estonian gov’t nod
The Estonian government has given the green light for the privatisation of fully state-owned carrier Nordica (ND, Tallinn Lennart Meri). “The company does not provide flights from Tallinn to passengers on its own behalf, nor does it have realistic assumptions of providing flight services from Tallinn anymore; it does not increase connectivity with Estonia, while the Estonian state has no need to own the company. Based on these considerations, the climate minister proposes selling the company,” the decision noted. Read more

China Southern announced that it will launch its latest route, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) to Doha International Airport (DOH) starting April 22, 2024. The four weekly direct flights will be operated using the airline’s fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Read more

> AutoFlight completes the first electric eVTOL inter-city flight
eVTOL developer AutoFlight demonstrated the capabilities of its Prosperity aircraft on February 27, 2024, with the completion of a 50-kilometer (31-mile) demonstration flight between Shenzhen and Zhuhai. The company claims it is the world’s first electric inter-city flight with an aircraft of this type. Read more
