The role of the Production Planner is many and varied and can contribute to significant savings within the Part 145/ CAR 145 Process if accomplished effectively.
Amongst the many duties include the general oversight of the facilities, general work preparation, responsive to environmental conditions, inventory control. subcontract Co-ordination, planning of safety critical tasks, managing hangar availability, man hours estimation and availability and the control of approved data.
There is much opportunity available within the Production Planning business area to deliver savings and the challenge is to identify efficient business processes that can be used to gather the data, analyze and measure the opportunities and finally to act on this.
The need for successful reporting at the beginning and throughout the maintenance check should be considered as a requirement of the highest order.
