Introduction to All Weather Operations (CAT II & CAT III) For CAMO & AMO Staff – ½ Day

Introduction

Regulatory approval for Autoland was first given in 1968 with the first CAT III landing taking place in Jan 1969 (Sud Aviation Carevelle)

This course is designed to familiarize current AOC holders and other operational and concerned personnel including Maintenance Management & Operations Staff with a detailed understanding of Low Visibility Operations (LVO) In addition to consider the Key elements required to organize achieve regulatory approval for All Weather Operations (AWOPS)

Finally to raise awareness regarding the maintenance procedures and the requirements for an Operator and Maintenance Organisation to remain compliant.

Autoland systems are normally designated Fail Operational where the failure of one autopilot will still allow an autoland to be carried out. This allows a “no decision height” approach to be conducted.

Regulatory Authority Members, Flight Safety Department Managers and Inspectors with operational oversight responsibilities.​Operations Accountable Managers and proposed Nominated Persons (NP) Flight OPS, Maintenance Planning (CAMO) and Maintenance OPS (145) , Crew Training and Ground Ops, Compliance Monitoring Managers (Quality Managers) and Auditors, Safety Managers, Flight Safety Officers, Flight Operations Officers and Cabin Crew Management.
