> Malaysia’s MYAirline agrees to pay overdue salaries
Insolvent Malaysian low-cost carrier MYAirline (MYM, Kuala Lumpur Subang) has agreed to pay 158 employees MYR4.3 million ringgits (USD917,900). Malaysia’s Labour Department secured the payment on behalf of the employees’ union, which was pursuing the airline for unpaid salaries. The payments will start in January but are contingent on the carrier securing fresh investment. Read more

This week marked what the aviation industry saw as a triumphant first with the successful flight of a Virgin Atlantic aircraft powered entirely by sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) across the Atlantic. The European Commission has added the Iraqi airline, Fly Baghdad, to the list of airlines banned in the EU zone, following the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) recommendation. In the same announcement, the EU Commission has made clear that the ban on certified air carriers in Nepal will remain effective, considering the ongoing security concerns, as an evaluation visit of authorities to Nepal made in September concluded, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
