Aviation finance specialists SMBC Aviation Capital (SMBC) has confirmed an order with Airbus for 60 A320neo family airliners bringing its total purchase of the type from Airbus to almost 340. The latest deal makes it clear that SMBC sees growing demand for Airbus’ single-aisle airliner family and provides it with an almost continuous delivery stream of the family for the foreseeable future. Malaysian carrier SKS Airways (KI, Johor Bahru) has suspended its scheduled flight operations amid reports it is facing a shortage of funds, and its order for ten E195-E2s is under threat. If the order holds, the carrier is in line to become Malaysia’s first Embraer operator. Read more

> Gulfstream Completes First Transatlantic Flight on 100% SAF
Gulfstream continued its pioneering use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), accomplishing the first transatlantic flight powered by 100 percent SAF yesterday. The milestone was accomplished with a G600 burning unblended SAF in both Pratt & Whitney PW615GA engines on a flight from the airframer’s Savannah, Georgia headquarters to London-area Farnborough Airport. Total flight time was six hours 56 minutes. Read more
