Sofema Aviation Services (SAS) www.sassofia.com looks at the process of reviewing Aircraft Records during the end of Lease Transition.

Introduction

Records reviews are extremely time-consuming, often allocated insufficient manpower, and frequently become part of expensive transition delays.

Note – The lessee is expected to provide the lessor with access to all applicable records.

The documentation supporting the continuing airworthiness of the aircraft is as important as the aircraft itself. During the End of Lease Transition Period, everything suddenly takes on a new and higher level of importance. Any Gaps or disconnects suddenly come to the surface with the potential for financial exposure.

The primary purpose of the records review is to verify completeness, accuracy, and compliance with mandatory regulatory requirements.

This is the period when any errors, inconsistencies or deficiencies may be corrected in a controlled and cost-effective way.

Important Steps to Build into the End of Lease Plan.
