Aviation Safety Management System Audit Techniques – 2 Days

This training is suitable for delegates that need to deliver an assessment of an aviation Safety Management System (SMS). After the completion of the course, they will understand the role of performance audits. The students will also learn how to engage with the challenges of assessing the effectiveness of SMS processes, to achieve the confidence to highlight shortfalls and areas of weakness in the SMS process, to construct findings in a performance context, and how to gain a detailed understanding of the multiple challenges with the delivery of a practical SMS.

Auditing an Aviation Quality Assurance System – 2 Days

The aim of the course is to provide the delegates with the knowledge and competencies needed to help them effectively assess the management, planning, conduct, and reporting of audits. They will learn to determine if the organisation is able to address direct, contributing, and the root cause of findings.

Reliability for Regulators – Effective Oversight and Auditing by Competent Authorities – 2 Days

This training will give the delegates a better understanding of the importance of Aircraft Maintenance Reliability within the context of safety and the remit of the SSP. They will gain knowledge of assessment and decision-making of proposed reliability systems (Initial Application / Amendment). The students will also learn that Reliability Centred Maintenance also means Safety Centred Maintenance, how to support the operators and keep them compliant, and how to review, assess and report on overall reliability at the state and international level.

Get to know the Instructor 

Rustom Sutaria is a graduate from Kingston University with a B.Eng. (Hons.) in Aerospace Engineering. He has more than 20 years of experience within aircraft engineering and maintenance, of which 15 years have been spent working for various high-profile aviation businesses in Technical Services functions. From 1997 onwards he worked with a number of influential aviation businesses such as monarch aircraft engineering & maintenance as an Aviation Technical Services Specialist. He has experience as Business Development Manager, aviation consultant & is skilled in safety, quality, and continuing airworthiness.

The Civil Aviation Authority Bahamas is a Contracting Member State of ICAO. It is responsible for Safety and Security Oversight throughout the archipelago of The Bahamas and for all Aviation matters, as outlined in the Civil Aviation Act. The Organization is in the process of making historical transitional changes from being a Government Department to that of an Aviation Authority.

In 2011 the Bahamas was the first of the Caribbean Countries in the North American & Central American Region of ICAO to successfully launch the State Safety Plan a safety initiative instituted by the Council of ICAO. The goal of the organization is to effectively reduce the overall lack of effective implementation of the Bahamas Civil Aviation Audit results ensuring they maintain a Safety Enhanced Aeronautical Industry.
