EASA Part M CAMO Transition Process will complete in March 2022

Choose Sofema Online (www.sofemaonline.com) as your CAMO training partner of choice

Introduction by Steve Bentley, CEO of Sofema Aviation Services (SAS) www.sassofia.com – A modern Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisations (CAMO) sits at the very heart of the Operators Maintenance Management Responsibilities.

Organisations who recognize the importance of Competence in the workplace and embrace an ethos of staff training – benefit in multiple ways:

  • Trained Staff are more Effective
  • Trained Staff are more Efficient
  • Training Helps to create a level playing field
  • Training Encourages a Shared Responsibility

Whilst each employee has a basic or baseline knowledge of both their individual as well as their team’s roles and responsibilities, being able to level up, by placing everyone in the same zone brings multiple benefits to the organisation.

Part M Transition Completes in March 2022 – Are you Ready?

As we may be aware Part CAMO is essentially replacing the old Part M Subpart G with the mandatory transition completing by 24th March 2022.

The new area of focus related to Part CAMO is the introduction of a management system (similar in fact to that found in OPS 965/2012) as well as a Safety Management System (SMS) fully integrated into the management system.

Additional focus is placed on the management of competence throughout the business and including all roles and responsibilities, such focus has introduced the need for a number of new training courses including Safety Investigation for CAMO SMS Staff and Human Factors & SMS Combined training for all CAMO employees.

Focus is also placed on the need to develop an improved reporting process to demonstrate compliance with regulation EU 376/2014 – please see the following for additional guidance:
Regulation (EU) 376 / 2014 Reporting and Just Culturе – Аre you on-board?
