Sofema Aviation Services (SAS) www.sassofia.com is pleased to share that the UK – Bilateral Agreements related to Aircraft Certification & Maintenance Current Status course was completed by 15 delegates from Qatar Airways.

The training was carried out as a webinar by the experienced SAS instructor Dejan Dencic on 20 February 2023.

What was the course about?

This training aims to provide the delegates with an understanding of the regulatory basis of the Bilateral Agreement and details of its constituent parts. During the course, the attendees will consider the following: Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement (BASA); Memorandum of Understanding (MoU); Working Arrangement (WA). After completing the course, the participants will understand the application and approval process & the process of developing the UK CAA supplement for the MOE and will learn how to prepare for the Competent Authority transfer audit activity.

Get to know the instructor

Dejan Dencic is a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia with a degree in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering with 20+ years of working experience. He is experienced in aircraft maintenance and maintenance planning & engineering. Dejan has also worked as a Compliance Monitoring Manager covering quality and safety in air OPS and CAMO. The instructor has a type rating for B737, ATR-72, and Airbus 320 family aircraft and is able to demonstrate a very good knowledge of aircraft documentation (AMM, IPC, MPD, AMS, AD, etc.). Besides being a Sofema trainer, Dejan is currently working as Lecturer/Instructor at Aviation Academy and as Quality Assurance Manager at a pilot school near Belgrade.
